1st March 2022

A Staffordshire-based developer has commenced the second phase of construction at a popular canalside development in Handsacre.

Further to acquiring a 24-acre site in the village in 2018, Walton Homes announced its plans to create a 200-home Acresford Park scheme, with the first phase – comprising of 57 homes – now largely complete.

Construction of phase 2a of the site, located off Tuppenhurst Lane, is now underway, and will consist of a further 13 properties.

Acresford Park is one of the largest the developer has ever built.

Amy Summerton, director of the business, said: “The Handsacre and Armitage areas of Staffordshire have always proved a popular location with our buyers thanks to the range of amenities in the area and their attractive semi-rural setting.

“Further to launching phase one in August 2020, we have enjoyed an excellent response from buyers, which we believe was partly fuelled by the Pandemic and the effect it had on people’s desire to relocate.

“We took the decision to launch the site further to a number of enquiries, and quickly enjoyed a stream of reservations on plots early-bird reservations on forthcoming plots. With a limited number of properties now remaining, we are ready to commence the next phase of construction,” she said.

While the development of 200 two, three and four-bedroom homes is anticipated to take up to five years to complete, the first properties of phase 2a are earmarked to be ready for occupation by Autumn 2022 with work on the next phase expected to begin in 2023.

Early Bird reservations on Phase 2a are now open. For details of these, and the remaining properties at Acresford Park, contact the on-site marketing suite on 01889 441008
