One of eight finalists in the prestigious Midlands Property Investment Awards (MPIA) Walton Homes was awarded Residential Developer of The Year in recognition of its significant contribution to the region.
“This is the first year we had entered the MPIA awards and so we were delighted to be chosen as a finalist, so to go on and win was a dream come true”, said Amy Summerton, Walton Homes Director.
Launched in 2023, the annual MPIA shines a spotlight on the exceptional achievements of individuals and companies across the Midlands. Celebrating property visionaries who lead the way in creating opportunities and excellence, and highlighting the vital role this industry plays in the local economic and social landscape.
At the award ceremony on Friday 20th September Walton Homes was praised for its significant contribution to the region, most notably its outstanding customer care and pioneering initiatives, especially within sustainability.
The judges made reference to our prototype cleaner, greener home to support UK targets to be net zero by 2050, and investment in a state-of-the-art PS1300 pallet shredder, that has lowered our carbon footprint by reducing waste and enabling the materials that would usually have gone to landfill or surplus, to be recycled and reused.
As part of the award selection process, we were also recognised for our long-standing support of local community initiatives. Such as donating bags of wood chips to Sherratts Wood Care charity, a 20 acres farm in Staffordshire that provides inspirational activities for vulnerable children and adults.
Amy continues: “To be recognized by our peers at such a prestigious event is a real honour. We pride ourselves on our locally sourced team of building and construction specialists’ long-standing commitment to delivering excellence for our customers and are absolutely thrilled everyone’s hard work has been recognised.”
MPIA Residential Developer of the Year is the fourth award win Walton Homes has achieved in 2024. In addition to LABC Developer of the Year and LABC site Recognition Awards for its Acresford Park and Woodwinds developments.
