Nestled within the Staffordshire Moorlands lies the small market town of Cheadle, home to a development we like to call Augusts Fields. With history dating as far back as Anglo-Saxon times, Cheadle has a past steeped in history from industrial to agriculture including brass making, copperworks and silk mills.
The skyline of the town is dominated by the 200ft spire of St Giles Catholic Church designed by the reputed architect Augustus Pugh who designed the interior of the Palace of Westminster and who our development is named after.
The town has many pathways ideal for walkers and a self-guided walk around the historical centre art trail is a must.
Surrounded by countryside and the gateway to the beautiful Churnet Valley with its amazing canal and river walks and steam railway you could not be better located.
The Memorial Recreation Ground is a must-visit for families with children of all ages with an enclosed play area for under 5s and a more adventurous open site for older children, including zip wire and skatepark. Why not make use of the large, grassed areas for ball games and picnics in the warmer weather.
The town itself has many independent shops including traditional butcher, baker, jeweller, bespoke gift shops, wool, and craft shops to name just a few. In addition, you have larger named brands and supermarkets such as Morrisons, Iceland, Asda and B & M. There are many cafes, restaurants and eateries offering a selection of foods whatever your requirement.
The Victorian Market Hall and Greyhound Walk house a traditional market which is held every Friday from 9am to 4pm has an ever-changing variety of stalls which includes fresh food, clothes, jewellery, collector’s item, ceramics, cosmetics and more.
Schools are plentiful in Cheadle for all ages, including Painsley Catholic College, The Cheadle Academy, Cheadle Primary School, Bishop Rawle C Of E Aided Primary School and St Giles Catholic Primary School to name but a few within walking distance of our Augustus Fields development.
Make Cheadle your home with our selection of house types positioned perfectly within this historic town.
