Demand for Caverswall sees all but one home sold in under six months

Staffordshire developer Walton Homes has sold all but one property at its stylish Caverswall development in just six months – and claims the success is due to Stoke-on-Trent’s continuing employment hot-spot status.

Back in September, the house-builder reported a spike in interest in its collection of new homes in Caverswall as buyers sought out properties in an attractive setting within close proximity to the city.

Steve Rush, sales manager for Walton Homes, said: “Ever since Stoke was singled out in Oxford Economics’ ‘Beyond The City’ report for having experienced the second fastest growth in productivity outside London, there has been a real surge from people looking to relocate to the area, as well as those that wish to cement their future in Stoke on Trent.

“As a result, we’ve gone on to sell all but one of the 11 three- and four- bedroom homes in less than six months, with buyers telling us that they want to be close to the city and its strong economy and career prospects, while returning home to an idyllic setting.

“While the city is full of opportunities, particularly due to its strong manufacturing productivity, our buyers said that they wanted to enjoy ‘the best of both worlds’ – combining the city’s opportunities with a relaxed village lifestyle, and setting of The Cloisters has more than delivered,” he said.

Walton Homes has always committed to ensuring its developments are sympathetic to the local environment, so The Cloisters properties each benefitted from dry stone walls, sash windows and charming Caverswall character to ensure that they were in-keeping with the picturesque village.

Steve added: “We always knew that offering individually designed, high-spec homes in such a beautiful rural setting would have its appeal, but we’ve been surprised at the speed the properties have been snapped up, particularly in light of the time of year.”

A three-bed, fully furnished property, Greyling Cottage, is the last available home on the development.

Buyers can visit the site and find out more about the remaining plot and sales options by visiting the sales negotiator on site from 11am-5pm Thursday-Monday.
