Walton grants first wish to Pelsall primary school

15th July 2015

Lichfield-based Walton Homes has, this week, granted its first of 30 charitable wishes to a Pelsall primary school. Ryders Hayes School on Gilpin Crescent has been handed a cheque for £500 by the developer as part of its 30 Wishes campaign, which was launched last month to celebrate its 30 years of housebuilding, and which will see the company grant wishes to organisations and those in need over the next 12 months. The school requested a donation towards much needed equipment in order to refurbish the outdoor classroom for their reception pupils and were delighted when their wish was granted. This equipment includes beautiful pastel paints, picnic tables and all that is required to create the much anticipated ‘mud pie table’. Once completed, the play area will definitely enhance the children’s free choice and lab time. Head teacher Sally Miner said: “We couldn’t believe our luck! We saw the campaign and thought    how much it would help us, but didn’t expect to be selected. We have already bought a small amount of equipment for our pupils with the donation, but are looking forward to purchasing more in the coming months.” Sarah Summerton, sales director for Walton Homes, says: “Having built houses across the West Midlands and beyond for 30 years we really do feel part of the community and to be able to  invest  and reward worthy causes like Ryders Hayes School outdoor area really is a special way to celebrate our anniversary and building heritage. “I look forward to visiting the school when the new resources have been installed and to see the look on the pupils’ faces.” For further information on Walton’s 30 Wishes campaign and how to register a wish, visit the website. To keep up to date with all the wishes granted during our 30 year anniversary visit our Facebook page.
