Open Weekend showcases attractive new homes in Armitage

7th November 2013

Local housebuilder, Walton Homes, is holding a special open weekend on the 28 and 29 September to help celebrate the launch of Help to Buy at its Newington Place development in Armitage.

Open to all househunters, the event will give people the chance to get to grips with the Government’s equity loan scheme that has been heralded as being responsible for the increase in house sales over the last few months, particularly in the Midlands.

This will be the first time that potential purchasers are able to use Help to Buy at Newington Place, allowing them to take advantage of the five per cent deposits available under the scheme. Providing practical advice and support, a specialist team of legal and mortgage advisors will also be on-hand to answer any questions during the course of the weekend.

Under the scheme, a three bedroom townhouse at Newington Place can now be purchased with a deposit of just £7,997.50, based on the property value of £159,950.

Helen Rollason, sales manager at Walton Homes, said: “Whenever a new scheme such as Help to Buy is launched, people are obviously going to have lots of questions. This open weekend at Newington Place is all about answering those questions and helping potential purchasers work out whether the scheme is right for them.

“We launched Help to Buy at our first sites just a few weeks ago and it is already receiving a tremendous response, both amongst first time buyers and those looking to buy their second or third property. At Newington Place, not only could the scheme allow people to buy a house with a deposit under £8,000, but it could also mean they are paying as little as £124 per week on their mortgage repayments – meaning it’s also a cheaper option than renting for many people in Armitage.

“As an added bonus, the open weekend will give people chance to walk round our two stunning show homes at Newington Place, allowing them to see the living space for themselves as well as getting an idea of the latest interior trends for their new house.”

An equity loan scheme, Help to Buy offers potential purchasers the chance to buy a new build property for 80 per cent of the listed value (made up of a five per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage). The Government will provide an equity loan of up to 20 per cent, covering the rest of the amount needed to buy the house. The new homeowners will however own 100 per cent of the property.

During the open weekend, people will also be able to talk to advisors about the exclusive properties at Walton Homes’ Squires Gate housing scheme – located just around the corner – which comprises just two substantial homes priced from £425,000 (or £340,000 under Help to Buy).

Located on New Road, Newington Place will comprise just 14 homes when complete and boasts a mixture of three and four bedroom houses. Carefully designed to meet the needs of modern families, the properties all feature open-plan kitchen and dining areas with French doors leading out onto the rear garden. High-quality fixtures and fittings, including contemporary kitchens and modern bathroom, are evident throughout and each house benefits from an integrated garage and parking space. Prices start from £159,950 for a three bedroom house and from £164,950 for a four bedroom home.

The Newington Place marketing suite is open from 11am to 5pm Thursday to Monday, inclusive of the weekends. For further information or to arrange a viewing contact the sales team on 01543 493641, or alternatively log onto www.waltonhomes.co.uk.
