Midlands land acquisition plans as confidence returns to the market

20th February 2017

Midlands developer Walton Homes has launched a land acquisition campaign as it seeks to build more new homes throughout the region.

The developer, which is currently building a number of developments throughout Staffordshire and Derbyshire, is now seeking land elsewhere across the Midlands as confidence returns to the house-buying market

Amy Summerton, director at Walton Homes, said: “This is a very encouraging time for the property market as mortgages seem more readily available and with the on-going support of the Help To Buy Government scheme, more people are looking to move, rather than stay and improve as they have over the past few years.

“Interest in our existing developments has been fantastic, with a number of successful developments and high interest in three of our latest projects; Devereux Grange in Great Haywood, Repington Walk in Tamworth and Mulberry Grove in Sutton Coldfield.

“As such, Walton Homes is now looking for land parcels across the region that may make suitable sites for small, exclusive developments. Our properties have a reputation for being located in attractive areas close to communities and being built in a sympathetic style to be in-keeping with local heritage, and that’s something we plan to continue,” she said.

The business has recently purchased and obtained residential planning permission for three pieces of land in Staffordshire, with work expected to start throughout the coming year.

Walton Homes’ developments are historically located as far north as Derby and reach as far south as Wolverhampton.

Land-owners or agents with sites that may be suitable should contact the business’ land acquisition team to discuss their potential.

Amy added: “Our developments range from bespoke one-off residences to larger collections, so we won’t rule out smaller parcels of land. It’s all about the location.”
