Walton Homes backs Gillway Boys Jets for 2016-2018 seasons

Midlands housebuilder Walton Homes has kitted out a junior football team for the next two seasons after granting the youngsters’ wish.

Walton Homes, which launched the 30 Wishes campaign last year to mark 30 years in business, has spent months granting wishes to charities, organisations and individuals who would benefit from a little extra financial support.

The Gillway Boys Jets, an under 13s team playing in the Tamworth Junior League, contacted the business to ask for its support in sponsoring new team kits for the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, and the developer was more than happy to oblige.

Amy Summerton, director of Walton Homes, said: “The boys got in touch with us and told us that they’d like a smart, branded new kit when they took to the pitch this season, and we’ve been happy to fund that for them.

“The Jets now have our logo emblazoned on their shirts. It’s a great piece of brand awareness for us, as the boys play throughout Lichfield, Tamworth, Burton, Sutton Coldfield and Nuneaton – all areas where Walton Homes has a presence, so it was an excellent fit for us to back them,” she added.

Jock Brindley, Under 13’s Manager and Club Chairman of Gillway Boys FC, said: “We were aware of Walton Homes’ 30 Wishes campaign and we felt this would be a great relationship for the business to support a local team and benefit from regular brand awareness across the Midlands.

“The boys are absolutely delighted with the kit, and have been very proud walking out onto the pitch in it. We’d like to thank Walton Homes for supporting us.”

Amy added: “We wish the boys every success in the League this season and we’ll be keeping track of their progress. Go Jets!”
