Town Meets Countryside: Walton Homes Unveils Haughton Development

Staffordshire developers Walton Homes has hailed its decision to return to Stafford and its surrounding villages a success.

Earlier this year, the family-owned firm announced that it had acquired three parcels of land in Haughton, Wooton and Walton-on-the-Hill with the intention of building new homes in the area.

Work began in Spring at Haughton, and Amy Summerton, director, said that there had been a lot of interest from potential buyers, particularly those looking for a small development in an idyllic location.

She said: “The news that we were returning to the region for the first time in more than a decade was very well received locally, and to date, we’ve been very encouraged in the enquiries we’ve had about the first of the developments, Redfern Rise.

“The Haughton site, off Rectory Lane beside St Giles C of E Primary School, comprises of 11 three- and four-bedroom homes in a beautiful village setting. We’re always very careful about where we locate our developments and as a peaceful and picturesque village less than five miles from the buzzing town centre, we’re able to offer buyers the perfect blend of town and country life.

“As always, each property has been designed to be sympathetic to its surroundings, while offering high specification finishes and offering the ultimate in modern-day living. We’ve created seven different property styles for this site, which will appeal to buyers of all ages,” she explained.

Of the 11 homes earmarked for the site, four are reserved, with four being available for immediate occupation.

Amy said: “With a demand for new homes being high, and with lending criteria being very favourable at present, having a brand new high-spec home ready to move into is very appealing, and we’re hoping to have the remaining homes delivered by the end of the year,

“We’ve had a lot of footfall to the demo house on site and we’re looking forward to completing the site,” she added.
